Kate Copestake
is director of Kate originally trained as a three dimensional designer for the tableware industry and the limited edition porcelain market. She founded Synthetic Dimensions Ltd in 1985, with her partner, digital media expert Kevin Bulmer, to write and produce computer games for the developing market. After the great success of their classic groundbreaking games including Gauntlet, Corporation, Legends of Valour and Chronicles of the Sword, the company won many awards including the Small Business of the Year Award and the Excellence in Animation Award, both in 1998. Synthetic's major clients include a two year cross-media campaign with rock icons Iron Maiden, and digital advertising campaigns for Disney Pixar, Reebok and Peugeot. As co-director, Kate wrote all of Synthetic's concept documents, advertising copy, corporate identity, company strategy and business development plans including the company flotation document. Synthetic went to the OFEX market in late 1999, with Kate as Chairman, successfully raising £1.6 million and achieving a valuation of £12.6 million. They subsequently entered the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in 2001. Now, with 20
years experience in writing for business prospectuses, seminar presentations,
marketing, PR, corporate literature, voiceovers, websites, company handbooks,
scripts, newspapers and magazines, Kate has founded Kate serves on the Wolverhampton board of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce and Business Link. After three years as founder Chairman of St John's Urban Village, a £50 million regeneration project in Wolverhampton City Centre, Kate is now an active board member. She is also a member of Birmingham-based Women in Business Association (WIBA) and was a founder member of the Inspirational Women Organisation. Kate is a feature writer for various publications both local and international. She has interviewed leading company directors, sportspeople and artists, and her work includes subjects as diverse as city regeneration, the gardens of Kyoto and art licensing.
